Recently, high temperatures and muggy weather have hit many parts of the country, and coupled with the dual driving force of economic growth, power loads across various regions have climbed rapidly. On July 4, the national maximum power load reached 1.465 billion kilowatts, an increase of about 20 million kilowatts compared with the end of June, setting a new historical high (1.451 billion kilowatts in 2024) and an increase of nearly 15 million kilowatts compared with the same period last year. Since the beginning of summer, the power grids in 6 provinces (regions) including East China, East Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong, Henan and Hubei have hit historical peaks.

At present, the national power supply is generally stable and orderly. According to the forecast of the China Meteorological Administration, from July 4 to 10, persistent high-temperature weather will occur in the Huanghuai, Jianghan and Jiangnan regions, with some areas reaching or exceeding the extreme values of the same period in history. It is expected that the power load in East China and Central China will continue to rise, driving the national power load to grow continuously. The National Energy Administration will pay close attention to weather changes and the power supply and demand situation, guide all regions and power enterprises to fully ensure the stable and full operation of generating units, realize inter-provincial and trans-regional mutual assistance of power surplus and shortage, timely coordinate and solve emerging problems, and make every effort to ensure the people's electricity needs for a cool summer and fully support the high-quality development of the economy and society.
