Chairman Guo Jianbo emphasized that the National Committee should further leverage its role in platform aggregation and organizational leadership, systematically support domestic experts in deeply participating in the work of various CIGRE study committees, and focus on promoting China’s innovative achievements in fields such as UHV, new energy, and carbon neutrality to the international stage. He stressed the need to actively initiate working groups and promote China’s transformation from “extensive participation” to “active leadership.” He noted that the work of National Committee members is both voluntary and highly demanding in terms of professionalism, and called for continuous improvement in the quality and efficiency of the National Committee’s work and efforts to build a sustainable talent echelon.
Academician Tang Guangfu emphasized that to enhance China’s influence in the global power technology governance system, it is crucial to cultivate a group of “core experts” capable of leading international technical topics, and to systematically support them in assuming leadership positions in CIGRE technical committees and related institutions. He also stressed the importance of supporting young experts in participating in CIGRE activities, thereby continuously strengthening China’s voice in international standard-setting.
Academician Rao Hong pointed out the need to earnestly learn from and draw on CIGRE’s governance philosophy and working rules, encourage Chinese members of the study committees to actively play their roles, and focus on cultivating and campaigning for high-level positions. He suggested learning from CIGRE’s mature conference models, deeply integrating China’s practical experience in energy transition and new power systems, and building a high-level academic exchange platform with global influence and sustainable vitality.
Vice Chairperson Chen Mei put forward clear requirements for the implementation of the meeting’s opinions. She stated that it is necessary to strengthen the construction of the National Committee’s specialized committees and the cultivation of young talents, support Chinese members of the study committees in performing their duties and playing their roles, expand CIGRE’s influence in domestic universities, organize training on international organization appointments and international standardization work, and plan for the National Committee’s brand international conference.
