On December 4, the 2025 Technical Exchange Meeting on Power Equipment Quality Improvement and High-Quality Development, hosted by the Power Equipment and Supply Chain Branch of the China Electricity Council, was successfully held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province. With the theme “Innovation as the Core, Green and Intelligent as the Wings, Improving the Quality and Efficiency of Power Equipment,” the meeting actively responded to the relevant policy requirements of the “Guiding Opinions on Promoting the High-Quality Development of Energy Equipment” issued by the National Energy Administration and other departments. Through keynote reports, special speeches, achievement displays, and other forms, the meeting conducted in-depth exchanges focusing on improving the power equipment quality control system and enhancing efficiency. Ding Yongfu, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Electricity Council and Chairman of the Power Equipment and Supply Chain Branch; Zhao Yongzhi, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China XD Electric Co., Ltd.; Zhang Xiangmu, Deputy Director of the National Intelligent Manufacturing Expert Committee and former Director of the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; as well as relevant leaders from the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Xi’an Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

Ding Yongfu pointed out in his speech that at present, a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is accelerating, and green, low-carbon, and intelligent development have become the main theme of energy and power development. This has brought unprecedented development opportunities for China’s power equipment industry, and also put forward higher and more urgent requirements for us to enhance independent innovation capabilities, break through key core technologies, and promote industrial optimization and upgrading. During the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, which is a crucial stage for building a new power system, upstream and downstream enterprises in the power equipment industry chain must continue to carry out collaborative innovation, promote in-depth integration of industry, academia, research, and application, improve the resilience and security level of the industrial chain and supply chain, and provide strong support for ensuring the safe and stable supply of energy.

Zhao Yongzhi stated in his speech that facing the new development trends of power equipment during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, China XD Electric will focus on the development direction of “high-end, intelligent, and green,” closely align with the needs of building a new energy system, concentrate on key core technologies in the field of power equipment, continuously increase investment in research and development, deepen the in-depth integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation, give full play to XD’s advantage of a complete industrial chain, and join hands with upstream and downstream enterprises to share innovation resources and jointly overcome technical challenges. The company will fully support and ensure national energy security and reliable power supply, and provide strong equipment guarantees for accelerating the construction of a new power system and promoting the clean and low-carbon transformation of energy.

Zhang Xiangmu delivered a keynote report titled “Three Core Elements of Intelligent Manufacturing in the Era of Industrial AI,” sharing the characteristics of intelligent manufacturing under the background of industrial AI and the key points and directions for the development of intelligent manufacturing in the energy and power equipment industry. Representatives from State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, Xi’an Thermal Power Research Institute, XD Electric, Xi’an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute, and other enterprises, combined with their respective innovative practices and typical cases in promoting the high-quality development of the power equipment industry chain and supply chain, shared practical experiences in improving power equipment quality and promoting high-end and intelligent development, providing valuable references for the industry.

Two thematic forums, “Improving the Quality and Efficiency of Power Equipment” and “Digital and Intelligent Upgrading of Power Equipment in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” as well as an exhibition of cutting-edge technological achievements in power equipment, were held concurrently with the meeting.

The meeting was jointly undertaken by CEC Science and Technology Service Center Co., Ltd., China XD Group Co., Ltd., and China XD Electric Co., Ltd. More than 200 representatives from government departments, power enterprises, scientific research institutions, power equipment manufacturers, and professional institutions engaged in intelligent manufacturing of power equipment attended the meeting.
